26 April 2021
2020 has been a crazy year in which the seventh edition of Seed meets Technology unfortunately could not take place. The world is looking a little more optimistic right now. The government expects everyone to be vaccinated against the Coronavirus by the summer, which is a positive prospect. That is why we intend to continue Seed meets Technology 2021 in week 39. The official invitation has now been sent out and 17 companies have already registered.
Of course we depend on the measures from the government. We expect to make a final decision by July 1 whether the event will be continued.
Seed meets Technology is an event where the focus is on innovative seed technology, variety assortment and adding value to horticultural seed. Together with other companies associated with the seed industry, the initiators want to strengthen the program of open days in week 39 with themes such as seed treatment, phenotyping, seed processing equipment, breeding support, sustainable crop protection and cultivation systems. Participants are expected to actually demonstrate new products or services in the exhibition hall or on the test field. The set-up with demonstrations, trial fields and meetings should lead to interaction with the visitor.

Symposia and meetings
In addition to the symposia that are organised, participants can also organize a meeting, lecture or workshop themselves. The themes of the symposia this year are focused on green seed treatments, sensors to reduce water and nitrogen use and hydroponics.
Vegetable trials and targeted communication growers
For a number of participants, the target group of seed growers and resellers is very important. This year we are again actively focusing on approaching this target group by setting up demo fields under the name 'Vegetable Trials'. This also includes cultivation on water. The first four seed companies have already confirmed their participation. In addition, Sakata's demo field is located on the field opposite Seed meets Technology.
