PPS Sustainable protection of leafy crops
Project period 2020 till 2023
By gathering knowledge, at the end of this four-year trajectory, the aim is to develop promising system strategies (Combination of resources and methods) for the protection of lettuce crops and celeriac. This project includes the influences of resilient varieties, the use of biologic products, the use of (improved) decision support systems (BOS), the use of cameras and sensors to detect damage to diseases at an early stage, and the possible effects of biologic products determined on food safety are discussed. Control of aphids, caterpillars and Bremia is central to lettuce cultivation. The sustainable crop protection of celeriac focuses on bugs and Septoria.
